Josh P's Ecoli project

E.coli
By Joshua Penhaligan 6JW

I decided to do my project on E.coli. Because of all the news in England about the out brake of E.coli in petting farms. I found this interesting and concerning because when I go home on holiday I normally go and visit 2 or 3 different farms.
Godstone Farm in Surry was the first Farm to have reported the first case of E.coli.
It has been confirmed a total of 49 cases of E.coli have been linked to Godstone Farm in Surrey, and they closed their gates last Saturday 12th September.

The second farm to close was Horton park farm at Epsam non cases of E.coli have been reported.
The third farm to close was white post farm in Nottingham with 4 reported cases of E.coli.

The fourth farm to close was Country Life in Devon.
Some of the children have been confirmed as suffering from the same type of E.coli.

The following was reported on Sky News
The Department of Health has asked for a review of petting farm guidelines as a fourth site is linked to cases of E.coli.

Question were now being asked about petting farm guidelines because of the outbreak.
The recommendations include making sure there are sufficient washing facilities so visitors can clean their hands immediately after coming into contact with animals.
Maybe for the under-fives they could have a separate area from the other children... where there's bunnies that have been screened or they've grown-up indoors.
