Adventurer Adrian Hayes was in Kings' today (10th November 2009)! Mr Watson arranged for him to come to talk to Keystage 2 in assembly about his recent amazing adventure accross Greenland. The purpose of this trip was to raise awareness about climate change.Adrian showed video footage of his Greenland trip and talked about climate change. He also showed a powerful set of images about our Amazing world, and some of the damage we are doing to it. We all were captivated by his words, images and presentation.
Year 6 were then extremely lucky then to have Adrian spend an hour taking our questions. Miss Bates and I were so impressed by the standard of questions you asked.
Adrian was only the 15th person in the entire world ever to Reach the summit of Mount Everest, and reach both the North and South pole. Now 18 people have done this - but Adrian holds the record for doing it in the shortest time.
We all agreed Adrian is an inspirational person!
A real life Hero in Year 6!
