Josh D's Macbeth Review

My review of Macbeth
Macbeth was great I really enjoyed it and I am sure that everybody enjoyed it as well. I found there were lots of morals in the story like:
• You should not be greedy it gets you nowhere
• Friendship helps you- always have plenty of friends
• Times have changed- in those times you would kill for power


The Performance
I found that the performance always surprised you, the story had great singing, great acting, Jamal was excellent at his part and that the costumes and stage props worked really well with the atmosphere.

I really liked it when Jamal acted and I also liked the funny joker who answered the door.

All in all it was a great show and I recommend others to see it but it is too gruesome for children under 9 years old.

A little twist of Oliver Review

Our Oliver production was amazing. After loads of rehearsals and hard work, we got to show off our drama skills to the whole school, and our families! It began with a sad workhouse scene. With everyone staring at you, it was hard not to smile! Our openeing song of Food Glorious Food really set the standard.

Oliver was amazing - Matthew really did sound like him!
Dodger had the same cheeky, happy spirit as in the musical. Great Chris!
Nancy really blasted the roof off the pub with the grand finale Oom Pa Pa!!
Fagin was brilliant with that sinister touch. The "thumbs" part in Pick a pocket or two really brought it to life!
But of course, without EVERY SINGLE PERSON we couldn't of done it. Another massive well done!

My Macbeth Review - By Olivia

Macbeth Review

The day had arrived. We were all going to see macbeth!( starring Jamal as Macduff son.) After the bus ride we had to rush through Mall of the Emirates before we missed the start of the show! Luckily we made it in time. The show started. The spirits were the opening act. The story line was:

Macbeth was first made Thain. He sent a letter home to his wife to tell her about it, and she became greedy. She made Macbeth kill the King of Scotland so he could become King. Macbeth could not live with the guilt, and he feared his friend Bankwell suspected him, so he killed him too. Macduff fled to England to avoid being killed, and while he was gone his children and his wife were killed. Macduff led war against Macbeth and killed him. Then war was over and Scotland was a peaceful once more.

I really enjoyed Macbeth. I think the funny guy, Pigslaw, was my favourite. A huge well done to Jamal, he was amazing!

I really enjoyed Macbeth. I thought the way that the
stoty line had been re written was great and I also
thought the Music and songs were good.

My favorite actors were the three witches, Jamal
and Macbeth. I think Jamal should quit school and
go to acting collage sometimes he is so good.

My favororite scene was when Macbeth had
just murdered the king and he looked REALLY guilty.
I think he would have confessed , if it wearnt for his
evil ,moneyseeking wife!

Emily review Macbeth

On Thursday, Year 5 and 6 went to see Macbeth at DUCTAC.


I enjoyed it very much! My favourite characters were the witches. I thought they had really cool songs. I'm not really sure what my favourite part was because I really enjoyed all of it!


It was really good to see the show of Macbeth instead of reading the original book (I read the children's version!) because the book is written in very old English and is very complicated.

Paul enjoys Macbeth

I really enjoyed the whole experience of seeing Macbeth on Thursday. This was the first stage ‘play’ I have seen, I have only seen musicals before. The show was amazing. I liked all the sets and the actors were really good. There were some funny parts that we all loved and had a good laugh. I liked the ‘knock-knock’ jokes a lot. The story was quite easy to follow and the actors made it so interesting.

Tomas reflects on Macbeth

One Thursday of the second term, year 5 and year 6 went to the Ductac to see the theatre show of Macbeth. We were all very excited to see Jamal. (a boy in my class who is taking part in the show) But when we started watching it, I changed my opinion......


I didn't really enjoy the show because I found the show too dramatic like when Jamal (who played the Son Of Macduff) died. I have never really enjoyed watching old history things because I find them a bit boring as I am used to watching modern things.


On the other hand, I really enjoyed the scene when the door man sang his funny songs and made his funny jokes. I thought that that scene was the best.


I was very excited to see Jamal's part because I knew that he did amazingly for the Oliver show so I knew that he would do as well for the Macbeth show. I also thought that he had a voice, filled with a lot of expression and I was very surprised that he did not put on an embarrassed smile because I would because I would find it quite scary looking at all my friends while trying to concentrate on the show.


Overall it was a fun experience because I was able to go out of school to do something out of school which I really liked. But that still didn't change my mind of me actually liking the content of the show

‘Macbeth’ 4 kids

I really enjoyed the Macbeth 4 kids. I understood it a bit in the begging but, I was getting a bit confused towards the end. It was so much fun with all my friends and I think we all enjoyed it so much. I thought that Jamal was really good and I think he is an outstanding performer. The show was such a menacing, betraying and murderous show it was just so confusing. I think the actors were so serious and intimidating towards the other actors.

‘A little Twist of Oliver’

I really enjoyed the production and I thought that everyone did so well. I never thought that all those people that got up and did a solo could do that, they were fantastic and just put there all into it and did so well. I enjoyed all the songs and the scenes were so good. Everyone’s acting was outstanding and I thought that we had just pushed those expectations to a higher level. I think that the teachers were really supportive and very helpful.

What a great thing to remember when you are older.

Macbeth - Dylan's review

I really enjoyed going to see Macbeth and I thought it was a very good act. I really enjoyed seeing Jamal come on and I thought he played his part really well. I thought it was a mysterious show full of mysteries and was very gripping. If I had to pick the best child actor I would pick Jamal because not only was he brave to act with a lot of experienced adults and he played his part like a sweet an innocent boy, unfortunately getting killed. If I had to pick a great adult actor I would pick the actor of Macbeth's wife because she had a very loud and clear voice.
I hope i see something nearly as good as this again

A little Twist of oliver

The show started off we were all marching in.Dylan had just said his line and we were trying to act sad. The song sounded great and we were acting brilliantly.
The show was great and I think everyboady performed very well well done to the main characters like Mattew, Jamal, Chris and Rose. I think we are all really happy with it especially Mr Watson, Mrs Bates, Mrs Kenny and Mrs Anderson. They all did a great job and we hope they liked their gifts.

Rachel reflects on the Year 6 show

On Tuesday the 16th of March we performed a little Twist of Oliver to our parents.
I think it was our best performance. I was really nervous at the start but after food glorious food I felt a little bit more relaxed.
I think Jamal was a really good Fagin and I thought Rose was a brilliant Nancy.
My favourite song was Who Will Buy.
I think everyone did really well!

Tomas reflects on Oliver!

I really felt very enthusiastic before the show because we had done so many rehearsals that I was bursting to sing those songs and act out my part again. My favourite part was when we all sang Oom Paa Paa at the end. Everyone gave it so much spirit and enthusiasm. It sounded amazing because it was so loud.



My favourite song was “Pick-a-pocket or two”, even though I didn’t sing it.



Jamal did his part so well that I honestly think that he is better than the real Fagin because he put a lot more expression that made it sound a lot more professional and evil.



Matthew also did a great job. He was the perfect person for Oliver because he has quite a high-pitched voice, which is very similar to the Oliver in the musical.



Rose also did a great job. Her voice is quite loud, which makes her sound like Nancy from the musical.



Chris was great as well because he can put on an amazing cockney accent that sounds almost identical to the real Dodger. He can also pronounce the words just like the Victorians would.



Overall, the experience was brilliant. I found it quite embarrassing when everyone was clapping and whistling. I usually find it quite hard not to put on an embarrassed smile.



I will never forget that amazing show.

When we were getting ready to line up outside the hall I got really nervous and felt myself shaking!! I was so excited! We were finally going to perform the show to our parents and family friends. Once the music started and we entered the hall the nerves disappeared and the show had begun. I really sang my heart out. It was great to be on stage in front of everyone. Everybody remembered their lines and all the words of the songs. I think we sang the best we have ever sang. I enjoyed doing my solo part, and I had a great time.

I just want to say very well done indeed to each and everyone of Year6 - I am so very proud of you all. Tuesday's evening performance of 'A Little Twist of Oliver' was awesome. The best yet! Truly terrific!

Mrs Kenny, Miss Bates and I are so delighted with your performance, effort, enthusiasm and talent. We set high expectations for you and you have met them in style! What an effort, what a performance! We are so thrilled with you!

A massive THANKS to Mrs Anderson for all of her time and effort with the music.
Another Thanks to Mrs Kenny, our stage manager and prop master! She always just makes things happen for us by being so thoughtful, thorough and organised. Thank you to Erin for helping with the lights too.

Oliver Review - by Rory

Oliver Review

I think that the script and songs were very good and that everyone was
very suited to their part. I also think that Jamal, Luke and Alec played
their parts extremely well. My favouriute scene was the first one
because eveyone acts so well it actually looks like a workhouse. It is
amazing if you think that we only started 2 weeks ago but everybody has
learnt their lines so well.

Rory on the Football 7's

The Football 7s

Last weekend me and my neighbours went to the football sevens.
It was all played at the rugby ground and there were loads of
legends teams as well as local sides such as 7 days and the
DDubai Dogs. Also I saw Mr Whiteheads team play in the Finals
and Mr White head scored a great goal.

Over all the tournament was really good and I recommend any one
that likes foot ball should go next time.

On thursday 11th of march 2010 we performed 'A little Twist of Oliver' to the year 5 students and the teachers. We tried our hardest and it turned out really well.

Now we have the chance to show our fantastic performance to the entire school and our parents.

The Half Day off school - by Tomas

The Half Day Off School-

It started in the morning, straight after the school break time. Emily and I greeted everyone who came in and we introduced them to the raffle. Most people bought one or more tickets. In the end we sold 98 tickets; each costing 10 dirhams. In total we made 980 dirhams which will all go to the Philippine embassy who have made a charity for mistreated maids. A lot of parents from Kings were there and a lot of them were my mums friends.

I felt very happy as we achieved our goal which was to pass 700 dirhams. I also felt very proud because we had raised all that money for a charity.

Even though we missed all that school I learned a lot about how to invite people to your stand.

On Monday, Tomas and I managed a raffle for charity.

The raffle was a sale raising money for mistreated maids. The sale was at Tomas' house and there were lot of mothers from school there, selling and buying. Almost everybody who came did the raffle. Each ticket was 10 dirhams and we sold 98 tickets, which means we got 980 dirhams. Everybody who was selling at the sale also added in a certain percentage from the money that they made selling. Emma Sharif bought 10 tickets. One woman - not anybody from school - bought 4 tickets but only paid for 1 so we had to take out 3 of her tickets, which took 30 dirhams away from the amount of money we made.

So Oliver was looked after Mrs Mann one of the staff at the workhouse until he was nine.When he was nine he had to start working and the gru...el began.Oliver is a blond blue eyed young boy!!!!

Zac's Oliver character profiles

Artful Dodger
Jack Dawkins or known as the Artful Dodger, is part of a pick-pocketing gang in London and has been bought up by the gang leader called Fagin. He is called the Artful Dodger because of his skillfulness in thievery. He was Oliver's first Proper friend ,finding him hungry and tired on one of the streets of London.

Oliver Twist
Oliver Twist was born and raised hungry with other orphans in an old Work House where they lived and worked that was around 70 miles away from London. Olivers mother died minutes after giving birth to him and left no trace of his father or other family members or friends. Oliver was sold to an old undertaker and his family and then ran away to London.

Yesterday I went to the Tennis it was soooo cool

we got to watch Djokcic v Lubici it was so intense

because Lubici was winnig then they had to play again

and Djokcic eventualy won yay!!!!!!!

Monster Truck show

On Friday my dad, my sister and I went to the Moster Truck Show near Plug-Ins IKEA. We had such a great time, they were jumping over 6 cars on a small motorbike! They also did back wheelies like their bacs were nearly touching the ground! Only two of the cyclists were allowed to jump the 60FT hight sand dune! Me and my dad were scared but my sister was say there displaying no emotions at all! The last act came the mind boggling monster trucks! They were massive! Six cars were awaiting their horrible and gruesome death as the moster truck pounded them with 15 tonnes of shear power and crushing! We were completely amazed and I cant wait to go and see the spectacular event again!

Rugby Rules by dylan

Over the weekend me, Oisin, Luke and Dan went over to the sevens ground to play in a rugby tournament. We started playing at 14:30 and finished at 17:30. Our first games were just group matches where we played Luke's team Arabian Knights 1 but unfortunately lost but we all played well. Then the next day were the knockout stages were we were beaten in the cup semis but we went in to the plate finals. We played the hurricanes 1st team and lost 2-0 but we were pleased with thegame because most of there team was made up of under 12's. My team was Exiles 2's and we were runners up for the plate. I am looking forward for my two tours coming up in march and April. A weekend tour in Bahrain and a 5 day tour in England

Oisin's Cricket Report

Hi guys!!!!!

Last night the cricket team (Josh D, Matthew, Dylan, Richard, Adam O, Luke, Ali, Zac, Harry, Tom(both year 5), Mark ( Matthew’s brother) and me) all had a cricket match against Raffles. It was a very successful match with most of the bowlers picking up wickets and we all batted very well to get us to a total of 89 runs and they got only 1 run so WE WON!!!!!!!!! We played with a pretty hard ball and we all did really well. Well done guys!!!!

Dibba - Rachel's Review

Tuesday: We left the school at 10:00 with a lot of excitement. Ashleigh's doggy Spike was there to say goodbye along with other moms. We all left the school with BIG smiles on our faces. I sat beside Angela on the bus and Ashleigh and Natasha were sitting behind us. It was a long drive to Dibba but finally we got there. I was very excited as I was never at Dibba before. I could not wait to see my cabin. I was in green 2 with Ashleigh, Angela and Natasha. I never camped in a cabin before. I also couldn't wait to find out what activity Stuart was doing. Mr. Watson was in Stuart so that was good. Stuart did kayaking. I never kayaked before and I was super excited but when it came to going in to the sea I got nervous. I actually thought I was going to be a lot worse than what I was. I had SO much fun kayaking and I had fun in the swimming pool too.I was pleased with myself for being the person picked for standing out at the activity. I learnt a lot about the stars on the wadi walk. We had a few sweets and fell asleep.

Wednesday: I got up in a crazy mood at 6:45. After breakfast we went up to the mountains to go mountain biking. I am not very confident on a bike in the mountains. At the start was ok because we weren't going over any bumps or down steep hills. The track was hard for me because I couldn't keep my feet on the peddles for the 2nd bump. The 1st steep hill was terrifying for me because I thought I would fall off. I did it eventually. The other hill was also scary because the were a lot of stones and I thought I would skid and go tumbling down the side of the mountain. After lunch we did climbing wall, abseiling and archery. I enjoyed all of them. I didn't think I would get to the top of the climbing wall but, I did! I went slower in the competition because I was on the harder side. When we went abseiling the drop from the top of the tower was scary. I did it without screaming! I only did it once because the thing around my waist was squeezing me when I went down. When we did archery I hit some good shots. When it came to the competition for knives, forks and spoons I did bad. So bad that I had to wear pants on my head to dinner because I hit the white bit 3 times. I wasn't the only one though. Mr. Watson told us that if he didn't hit the middle of the board we could soak him in cold water. He missed and he was pushed into the freezing cold swimming pool! The talent show was very interesting. I was disappointed that Anglea decided to back out of it because I wanted to hear her sing! I do think Jamal deserved to win. I thought Hazel, Kristi and Ellie's singing was good and funny!

Thursday: I woke up at 6:40 and I started to pack my bag. I was sad that the days went by so quickly. After breakfast I did GPS. Mr Watson had to go back to the UK so Mr Whitehead took his place. I was in a three with Charlotte and Claire. We had lots of fun. I saw at least 2 baby scorpions. We were the last people to finish but I had a lot of fun! The puzzles we did after were harder than I expected. After lunch I waited around for the bus to arrive. When the bus arrived I was sad that I would never be back at Dibba again. I had a lot of fun and I wish we didn't have to go!

My favourite activity was kayaking and climbing wall.

Here is my review of Dibba:

Day 1:
The Windsor's first activity was Mountain Biking. I really enjoyed it because it was almost like a freedom for me because you were actually allowed to jump unlike anywhere else where you could get hurt.

Day 2:
Our second activity was Kayaking. I really enjoyed getting wet and playing around in the deep water because for me I can get very scared of deep water but with everyone around I felt very safe. I also found the Kayaking fun because the Kayak kept losing control and forcing me into another direction.

Our third activity was GPS. I really enjoyed walking around in the vast area because for me it felt like the African Plains because the land was so big. I also enjoyed the puzzles at the end of the activity because it was not impossible nor easy.

Day 3:
Our last activity was the Abseiling, Rock-climbing and the Archery. My favorite out of the 3 was the Abseiling because it was very scary at first but when I got used to it I was a lot more confident so I did a few jumps and it was really FUN.

Overall:
I really liked the Abseiling, Rock-climbing and the Archery day because it was really fun and it involved a lot of skill and stamina because if you didn't have any of those you would not be able to climb to the top of the rock-climbing. For the Archery you need skill because you can't just get a lazy person to do well because it involves a lot of concentration which I lack. I also really enjoyed being with my friends because we were always playing together and having fun.

I WISH WE COULD REDO THOSE THREE DAYS!!!!!

Run report
On Friday 22nd of January 2010 it was the Dubai marathon and most of my family competed in various events: My dad did the marathon, my mum did the 10k and I did the 3k. On the morning of the marathon I was at a sleepover so by the time I got to the starting point my mum and dad had already started and my mum was actually coming in as we got there. We also saw Mr. Watson coming in just before my mum. She got 54 mins after that it was nearly time for the 3k. At 11o’clock the 3k started and me and some friends started running. It was very busy there were thousands of people doing it. I did it in 12mins with a friend. Meanwhile my dad was also finishing the marathon. He did it in 4:48 hours and he got a huge medal. It was great fun and I will definitely do it next year.

Becky's Run Report

On Friday the 22nd of January I ran the 3k at the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon. There was the actual marathon(42k) The 10k and the 3k that I ran. Before and after we ran we cheered on the marathon runners and some of them looked really hurt but determined to finish. I ran it with my dad, my mum, my sister, and the Quick family. At the beginning of the 3k there was loads of people all huddled together making you really hot but when it finally began everyone spaced out. The course was 1.5km so we had to run it twice. It was really hot because it was right in the sun. I got a stitch half way through but when we finally got to the end it was triumph! I ran it in 17 minutes and although my legs hurt afterwards it was really fun!

Charlotte to the rescue!

Last week I rescued a baby tortoise and I called him Tufty!My gardener found him in a bin!!! How cruel is that?! Leaving a baby tortoise in the bin!After we made him a home out of a box and decorated it.We then decided it wasn't fair that I was the only one to name it soooo..It now has 3 names: Tufty, MotoMoto and Henry!!!Now he has a LOVING family that WON'T put him in a BIN!

What a coincidence!For Christmas I bought my parents a life size, fluffy emperor penguin.... It is a little taller an a real penguin but it is soooo cute! I have read that emperor penguins can measure up to 122cm in height. Mine is 128cm, I have just measured him.

My week in London.
Last week I went to London to do some school tests.
All my old friends were there and it was like a school
reunion. It was very nerve-racking because the tests were
very hard and it needed a lot of concentration. I was there
from 8:30am - 1:30pm.
Even though I was not at school, my parents put practice papers
in front of me everyday on the kitchen table. That was not much fun.
I would have much preferred being at school; being with my friends
than being alone on the kitchen table getting bored to death.
Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Apparently, I did so very well, that I got a Guinea Pig.
He is sooooooooooo cute!!! His name is Ozzy and is black with a blob of white on his forehead!!
I will bring in a picture of him tomorrow and show everyone.

Netball News by Corynn

On Wednesday 20th January, the Netball team went off to Safa school for a match.
We had four seven minute quaters.
On the first one, it was 5-0 to us.
On the 2nd quarter, it was 5-0
The 3rd quarter was 3-2
And the final quarter was 2-2
So altogether, it was 15-5 to Kings'
Well done to all the netballers and for having a great victory!!!

Lucy's favourite toy!

In 2003 my monkey (Cheeky Charlie) arrived from Baghdad with my dad after a long flight. When I saw him I was thrilled! He is kept on my bouncy bed next to my pillow. Charlie is one of my favourite teddies because he has come along way from Baghdad, he is as soft as a feather and delightful to cuddle also he is a MONKEY!!!

Charlie has an over sized tummy that is a velvety, squishy cushion with a bellybutton placed in the centre. He also has a little orange top that covers his chest and says 'Cheeky Charlie.' His ears are huge like an ELEPHANT'S! They are quite large for a monkey. Charlie has two bold eyes as black as the night, a cute button nose and a huge grin spead over his face. A piece of brown thread has come out of his mouth and now it looks like he has a wispy tongue! His smooth tail holds a saffron yellow banana! YUM YUM!! That is about it for Cheeky Charlie!! OOH OOH OOH!

Tom W returns to Kings'!

Tom and his family popped into Kings' year 6 today (Wedesday 13th Jan 2010) to visit his old friends. After many months of sailing round the oceans and being on safari in Africa, Tom is back in Dubai for a few days before heading back to Australia.

It was lovely to catch up with old friends! Sam, James and Mum were also in school. Just like old times!

Hero Debate

After much debate and discussion 6JW have decided to have two heroes this term. The first half term we are having a 'real life' hero - someone who has changed things for other. Next half term we will have a 'celebrity' hero - someone who is good at what they do and has lots of fans.

Myst Descriptive writing by S. T. Ranger

I feel myself falling helplessly. Suddenly I land with a unexpected, painful thump. I slowly stand up, rubbing myself and scanning for injuries. Pinching myself to see if I am dreaming, I examine something unimaginable. I instantly begin to admire the beautiful, mesmerizing landscape in front of me.

I gaze all around the rich, rusty, orange horizon, my eyes struggling to adjust to the bright burning sun. There is a barren wasteland nestled in between the jagged uninviting rocks. As sharp as daggers, they are tinged with an orange crust. As I stare cautiously up into the soft, blue sky, I feel lost and magical. The baby blue sky, lies over me like a blanket of azure and white ribbons. A ravenous hawk, soars above me with it's grand outstretched wings slicing through the warm air. His wings beat rhythmically and his beady eyes glare at me, like a shark circling it's prey.

Suddenly, I am startled by the soft angelic voice behind me.....

Flames roared all around me, but I knew what was about to happen and dove under a small table and covered my ears, just as a loud inhuman screech filled the air and the ceiling started to crumble down on me…

First things first, I’m Willow and I’m a nature spirit, a nymph.
At birth, nymphs have coal-black eyes as dark as night. They eventually turn into a different colour that predicts our destiny. If your eyes were swamp green, you’ll come back to life as a tree, plant or animal after death. Others, however, came back as pebbles, rocks, or rare stones if their eyes were emerald green. Mine were different from nearly all of the rest of my people, the last like me born 75 years before me, a startling SILVER with emerald green specks. That meant me, and the ones before me, were immortal.

I spent two weeks with my family, my mom and me, in our tree (we live in trees instead of houses, we live in harmony with nature unlike SOMEBODY!) before I was moved to The King’s Castle to train. Five years later I was moved to somewhere entirely different…
CHAPTER 1- Elementals

“Magdella! Magdella! Wait up!” I shouted after my tutor, he’s taking me somewhere today, he says it will change my life forever, but he could at least wait for me to catch up! “Hurry up, Willow! There’s no point going if you can’t keep up, you’re the only reason we’re going!” Magdella snapped back over his shoulder, not even slowing as we walked through the forest towards a large, silver, metal gate.

The whole building was surrounded in barbed wire, guard gnomes and exotic plants. Beautiful in a terrifying sort of way…

As Magdella got us past all the security, a guard gnome flung open the silver gates to show a majestic, circular building surrounded in greenery. We stepped inside and Magdella directed me to a large golden door, as if he had done this many times before.

“WOW!” That’s the only word I could think of to describe this room displayed front of me, the room was filled with fun thing for the people here to enjoy, beanbags, TVs, board games, books, computers! Cool.

“This is The Hall of the Immortals; you will stay here for the rest of your training.” He chuckled at the look of bewilderment and delight on my face, and then pointed to a balcony near the ceiling, “The others are probably up there. Off you go! I have to go have… a word… with the director.” And as suddenly as that, he turned his back on me and closed the door behind him.
Soon after, I found myself looking up at the long rope ladder which was the only way to get up to the balcony, which was surprisingly high up. “Oh, well.” I thought and started to pull myself onto the first rung, making a little bell tied to the top of the ladder ring, “An alarm!” I realized, just as a smiling, dread-locked head looked over the edge of the balcony. “Finally! A newbie! Well come on up then! Here, I’ll help...” He shouted down to me and started to pull up the ladder, me just managing to hang on.

At the top, he opened one of the two doors at the top, revealing the sounds of go-carts and cheering “GO! GO! SWIFT!” “GO! GO! ROBIN!” Two girls sat in the middle of the small crowd, consumed in an epic go-cart race!
“GUYS!” The dread-locked teen shouted over the cheers.
“Wait for a sec, Ray! I gotta pause this game!” Replied one of the go-carting girls and soon there was silence, everyone was looking at me!

“Umm… Hi, I- I’m Willow…” I stuttered to the crowd, there was an awkward silence, then a blue-eyed, blonde-haired girl put down the controls for the go-cart race and introduced herself to me,
“Hi! I’m Swift, Element of Air!” Then the dread-locked guy exclaimed loudly, Whoops! I haven’t introduced myself yet! I’m Ray, Element of water.” I looked at both of them confusedly “E-elements?” what were they talking about?
Ray looked at me, his face a mask of shock and surprise, “YOU HAVEN’T HEARD OF THE ELEMENTS?! Story time everybody!” Everyone started making themselves comfy on beanbags and armchairs, “Ray! What if they haven’t told her for a reason?” Swift accused him, but by this time; I was dying to know what they were talking about so I was very relieved when Ray ignored Swift and started to tell the story anyway…

“Ahem… Can everyone hear me? Good. Let me begin…

James D's Christmas Review

Christmas

This Christmas we had a lovely day at home. A really special present was my big brother Sean arriving from England on christmas morning. I was really pleased to see him, and he was glad to be back in Dubai in the very warm weather. We had some special sparkling fizzy apple juice with our breakfast to celebrate him coming home. We opened all of our presents and i was really suprised to get a wii and a really wicked scooter. Ellie and her family joined us for lunch. It was good fun and my Dad cooked the biggest turkey ever i'd seen in my life, but it was absolutely delicious!
Later in the evening some more friends came over and played lots of games such as a game called charades and one called pictureka. I got them both as presents. I had the best christmas ever!
