Tomas tries water skiing!

My First Time Water Skiing

I decided to choose one particular subject instead of summarizing the whole of the summer holidays. It was one of my favorite days of my summer holidays and we really enjoyed sitting in the boat going about 35 Knots which I don't know how many m/h it is, but it's pretty fast.
We rented a boat with another family from Kings. The boat is not that big, but big enough for 2 families.

We managed to get a pair of water skis for the kids and the adults. The kid's water skis are quite small for me and the other boy so we were told that if we water-skied very well we would get new ones so that they wouldn't hurt our feet. We were told how to use the skis by the dads. They taught us how to get up and how not to fall. We were even told that if our legs were aching, how to fall down comfortably and safely.

I was the second last person to have a go but I still did well. I managed to stay up for about five seconds but after that I fell down. When I got back into the boat I told my dad that I felt like the boat was slowing down. The problem was that the hydraulics for the power steering were not working well. That meant that the steering wheel was extremely hard to turn which caused the driver to have to slow down in order to turn.

The proper way to water ski is by sitting in the water waiting for the boat to pick up speed and then stand up without pulling on the rope so that you do not fall forward. Trying to water ski in the wake is quite difficult because you are going on a couple of bumps that make you lose your balance.

All the kids were sitting at the front of the boat watching the waves as we were flying over them. There was this massive oval shaped wave that we jumped on and then landed "BANG!" on the water. We were going so fast.

We then decided that it was getting late so we went back to the harbour and we were looking for jelly fish in the water. We then entered the harbour very slowly because there was a sign that said that there were divers underneath us. We waved at some of our friends who live in a building called "The Jewel". We turned the boat around so that we could moor the boat easily enough without crashing. While we were turning my dad was standing at the back of the boat about to jump onto the pontoon when the other dad accidently pushed the power bar so my dad fell into the harbour water.

I will always remember this day, because it was my first time gliding over the water on skis, and the whole family spent the day together. I really enjoyed it.

I've never been able to water ski before and it sounded like you got the hang of it.
