James D's summer

I Had a great summer this year, it was so much fun!

I felt sad that we had to leave Layla my dog. First me and my mum went to England for 10 days to see my brother , grandma and family, my dad had to stay in Dubai because he had work, we stayed at my grandmas house with her dog molly for 2 days and then we couldn’t wait to go to our old house where we used to live in a place called Chellaston.

It was a weird feeling living in our old house, but it still felt like home. We were very busy that day and we had a lot of cleaning up to do in the house and especially in the garden, but we left that until my dad came, we only mowed the grass and pulled out some weeds. Then finally we were done, after a long day we sat down and watched T.V. It was 1 week until France!

We got to the airport in France with my mums sister Jacqui and her friend Maddy . I was glad the flight was only 1 hour, we were staying with our friends Kathryn, Martin and there dog Millie. The thing I enjoyed the most was the canoeing down the river with my mum Jacqui and Maddy , me and Maddy were the best. We left my mum and Jacqui behind while we raced on down the river.

The dog Millie was so playful and loved the water. The house was really big and the garden was bigger! They had a really big pool, they lived in a big valley like a forest. Then we went to Darlington to see my big sister Louise, and my nephews Callum and Riley. It was great to see them. After that we went to Northumberland to Holy Island where the Vikings first landed. It was really interesting and we had to cross the causeway at the right time when the tide wasn't in. Finally we went to Alnwick Castle where Harry Potter was filmed. I took lots of photographs and enjoyed playing in the water fountains. On the way home I went to Whitby, my Dad's favourite place because he used to go their for holidays when he was a boy. The fish and chips at Magpie Cafe was brilliant - the best I have ever tasted!!!

My summer was amazing and I really enjoyed it!

It was very sad coming back to Dubai without my big brother Sean but I was very excited to see my dog Layla.
